We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds who are committed to serving older adults with professionalism, integrity, and compassion.
To volunteer with Senior Equity Tax Network, applicants should:
- Be at least 18 years of age (or have approval for youth volunteer opportunities).
- Have a passion for serving adults age 60 and older.
- Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and respect when working with clients.
- Complete any required orientation and training provided by Senior Equity Tax Network.
- For tax preparation and quality review roles, successfully complete the required IRS Volunteer Standards of Conduct (VSC) certification and any applicable IRS tax law certification.
- Protect the confidentiality of all taxpayer information.
- Commit to volunteering during the tax season based on an agreed-upon schedule.
- Work collaboratively as part of a volunteer team.
No Tax Experience? No Problem!
Many of our volunteer positions do not require previous tax preparation experience. We provide training and support to help volunteers succeed. Whether you enjoy working directly with clients or prefer assisting behind the scenes, there is a place for you at Senior Equity Tax Network.
